I have Mac 10.7.5 and I can't get a newer OS and I need to know which version of Firefox I need to download. Their old directory of files is extremely hard to navigate and I don't know which one I need. Please help!
You might try -US/kb/Unable%20to%20download%20or%20save%20files?s=firefox+download+unknown+error&r=0&e=sph&as=s#w_choose-a-valid-download-folder-in-safari-preferences or some of the other suggestions on that article.
For an up-to-date browser for older Macs, try Chromium Legacy. You may need to use this direct link to download Chromium Updater; no other browser for OS X 10.7-10.8 is able to display GitHub correctly. When opened, Chromium Updater will appear as an icon on the right side of the menu bar. Click it, then select a stable version of Chromium Legacy to download. Once the new copy of Chromium Legacy is downloaded, drag it to the Applications folder. You can keep Chromium Updater and use it to update the installed copy of Chromium Legacy. To enable Google sync in Chromium Legacy, quit the browser, then enter the following command in Terminal (it is one long line):open -a /Applications/Chromium.app --args "--oauth2-client-id=77185425430.apps.googleusercontent.com --oauth2-client-secret=OTJgUOQcT7lO7GsGZq2G4IlT"Chromium Legacy will open; log into your Google account. You will not need to run the command again unless you log out.

On August 2, 2016, Firefox 48.0 was released. It is scheduled to be replaced by Firefox 49.0 on September 13, 2016. At that point, Mac users using OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, 10.7 Lion, and 10.8 Mountain Lion will be left behind by the current versions of Firefox. It will be a sad day, as Firefox is the last major browser to support Mac OS X 10.6 through 10.8.
Mac OS: You can download Java from Apple Support Downloads (Java 6 and below). On Mac OS X 10.7.3 (Lion) and above, Java 7 is available here or from this download page. See How do I get Java support for Mac? for more information.
Windows and Linux: You can download Java here or you can select the offline (full) installer for your operating system from this download page. (If you are looking for Java 6, see the Java 6 FAQ page). You can also download an offline installer using the "JRE" download link on Oracle's Java SE Downloads. Important! Even if you have a 64-bit operating system, you need the 32-bit (x86) Java download for 32-bit browsers. On Windows, make sure you select the 32-bit JRE since Firefox and SeaMonkey official releases are 32-bit (e.g., select "Windows x86 Offline" for the offline installer linked from Oracle's Java SE Downloads page). See below for more information on installing or updating Java on Windows. See 64 bit builds for more information about 64-bit versions of Mozilla applications.
The Java Update feature automatically checks for updates at scheduled intervals and notifies you when an update is available so that you can install it. You can also update Java from the Java Control Panel, or by manually downloading the latest update.
If you don't need 64-bit Java, there is no reason to have it installed. If both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Java are installed, the Windows Control Panel will display only the 64-bit Java Control Panel. In such cases, you can access the 32-bit Java Control Panel for Java 7 by running C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\javacpl.exe (press "Windows key + R" to open the Run box). Alternately, you can update Java using the manual update method (see below) by downloading the latest update.
If you have problems installing the latest version of Java, a user reports success installing Java online using Internet Explorer, after first completely uninstalling Java from his system. Opening Internet Explorer and then visiting a page that uses the Java plugin, such as this javatester.org page, should detect that Java isn't installed and offer to install it. Alternately, go to the Java.com download page using Internet Explorer and run the online installer (details here).
Note: If you visit a page that uses Java with your Mozilla browser and it detects that the Java plugin is missing, the Plugin Finder Service (PFS) may offer an outdated version. (Mozilla is planning to either remove the PFS or change the process for downloading missing plugins, at some future date.)

Important note:Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox (version 52 and later), and Safari (version 12) have limited their compatibility with the technology required for Java applets (NPAPI).Therefore, if you need to carry out a procedure that requires Java at the AEAT e-Office, the browser to use on Mac is Mozilla Firefox in a version prior to version 52.Also, please note that installing Java 8 on Mac requires an OS X version 10.7.3 or higher.

We recently switched our build machine to Lion (OS X 10.7) which had some unintended effects on the Firefox/TorBrowser build. After consulting with Mozilla developers, Sebastian Hahn was able to nail down the problem and provide a fix. The Mac OS X Tor Browser Bundles have been updated so they should stop crashing for everyone now. Thanks for your patience!
"Meh do you guys test your releases at all!? Mac torbundle 2.2.35-9.1: if you right-click the firefox toolbar and click 'customize' results in immediate crash of the browser. ADDENDUM: actually no it's way worse than that. you can't click on the noscript button on the toolbar or it crashes. You can't even HOVER over the noscript button or it crashes. Come on guys."
Ouch! My faith in an end product is not enhanced by the presence of a simple error in a technical announcement: it's either 10.6 "Snow Leopard" or 10.7 "Lion" - there is no "Snow Lion". :(On the other hand: thanks for the swift update. :)
I just used Tor for the first time on my Mac Lion 10.7 and it crashed after several tries. Always when pressing "previous page" and usually after the second page I visit.Vidalia acts like its still on but the Tor icon is gone.
you know I had downloaded tor about a month or two ago for mac 10.6.8 and it was running great. I finally realize there is an update for the past couple days it's been there i've just ignored it, so i download it and now all the crashing.
I've been Tor Browser Bundle for a while. I sometimes have trouble with Firefox/Tor Browser not starting up properly after the Vidalia Control Panel is connected to the Tor network. So I would, after it connected to the Tor network, sometimes go to manually open tor browser (firefox) in the folders: FirefoxPortable -> App -> Firefox -> tbb-firefox.exe . Everything seemed to be OK for a while as Firefox would start up. (but every time I turned it on like this it would should the Mozilla "Thanks for Upgrading" screen. I later found out that all the Bookmarks from my other (non tor) firefox were in the tbb-firefox. And the proxy settings were not activated!!!!! In Firefox: Tools -> Advanced -> Network -> Connection (Settings), the option "Use System Proxy Settings" was enabled, instead of "Manual proxy configuration"!!!!!! Is this a huge bug?!?! I went to Tor Check website and it wasn't routing my traffic through Tor! My privacy has been leaked because of something I don't understand. Can anyone help me please?????? 2b1af7f3a8
