So, how do you get the best Snow Leopard experience, in the best way? How do you install Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard without all the extra cruft, and without having to live with it for a year before you can upgrade?

You can do this from any Mac or PC, and the resulting bootable Snow Leopard DVD will boot on Macs that have Snow Leopard installed, and on Windows XP and later in Boot Camp. Note that you can't boot a Mac with a Snow Leopard DVD. If you're booting a Mac, you need the built-in boot stuff on the drive.

The Snow Leopard DVD is not just chock-a-block, it is chock-a-block with an excuse. As we saw with the earlier Leopard DVD, Apple's Snow Leopard DVD is an excuse to stuff more software onto the disc. There's a funny thing about Snow Leopard: it's an excellent Windows-style XP replacement, and a major driving force behind Microsoft's X86-only Windows 8 is that it's an excellent XP replacement. But it's a poor and unwanted tool for OS X users, in that it shoehorns in a lot of stuff that nobody wants.

You can do this from the Snow Leopard DVD itself, if you've got the installer DVD to hand. Because the installer is smaller, here's how to get what's on the DVD onto your hard disk and create a bootable Snow Leopard DVD.

Boot the Snow Leopard DVD in your Mac (note: do not use a hard drive that's used for anything else).

Double-click the Snow Leopard icon on the DVD (rather than the installer DVD) and choose Install.

Follow the instructions.

I am running a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am wondering how to end the trial period and convert to a full copy of Photoshop CS6. I tried closing down Photoshop, which produced a message telling me to return the disk. I did that, but the same message returned. How can I end this?

Hi Dave,I was able to get my English Indesign CS6 to switch to German. But there is one Problem. The moment I startet Indesign there is the error message that my trial version ends soon altough I bougt a regular Version with correct serial number by an adobe seller. Can anybody help me? 827ec27edc
