It was a bright sunny morning on Wednesday, at the cross of 7th and B st in Chino. With lovely fragrance and smell of breeze permeating the streets, the little parking lot where people gathered was shining like the Garden of Eden. Volunteers had been stacking up piles of groceries and dozens of people had already been waiting there. God is at work always.
It was good to meet friends we met last Wednesday. Tranh, a Vietnamese mom, likes God but she said it would take time to accept God. It was comfortable to share with Tranh about family and life. Maria and Paula were there. God reduced Maria's upper back pain last Wednesday, but the pain and stress came back during the week. So Leah and I prayed twice this time and Maria's pain was reduced from 10 to 2 and eventually to 0!
By using 3 circles, Pastor Alan led Gabby to Christ. Gabby grew up in church but hadn't received Jesus before. Alan invited Gabby to our next Csom on April 16th! Hope to see Gabby and hear her testimony.
Also talked to several other brothers and sisters there. Met 3 Chinese: Grandma Ma, Mr. Duan and Alex. Met a Chinese sister from my hometown Yantai in China. Prayed for brother Manuel from Chile. Quote from him, “God is filled in my heart. Keep the heart clean for God. Keep that house clean for the Father.” Talked with brother Jose, Kolomo and Darryl. I liked what Jose quoted from Scripture “Fix our eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen.” Leah and I also met Katrina and Reuben.
In the end I prayed for an African American brother Edward. He talked to me about his homeless life and relationship with girlfriend. It was not fun to stand and listen under the scorching sun. But the Spirit allowed him to pour out his sad story. Our sins are great but God’s love is greater. Telling people about Jesus is Fun. Spending time with people bear witness to God’s love and healing. Abiding in His love is an attractive lifestyle. “But as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God.” 2 Corinthians 3:17b.
Love what God is doing through you Joe!
