After watching a powerful video teaching at Vineyard/Pomona last evening, a few of us met at Walmart to pray for people. Several didn't want prayer, but the ones who responded, quickly said yes to our offer. Among them: sweet little Leslie wanting prayer for her mom & dad's troubles (hard to tell, but I suspect safety issues), Jeffry, a precious, mentally challenged Walmart employee, Heidi & husband desiring work stability, and then there was Gilbert. He was already responding, "YES," before Robert (my mentor for the evening) had finished asking him if he'd like prayer. Gilbert wants freedom from a heroin addiction. His posture during the prayer was what caught my heart's attention -- his eyes were closed & he was leaning into the words being spoken over him. After I returned home, my evening was capped-off with an unplanned, but Spirit-led time of intercessory praying, as I remembered each face we had prayed for in that Walmart shopping center parking lot. "Thank you, Jesus, for your heart of love toward each of these folks we encountered. Continue your work in their lives."

Hi Patti, so encouraging and touching! Let’s keep praying for those familiar faces and names if we still remember. I heard from one elderly pastor that it is very important to keep praying for those we encountered / evangelized for 40 days. May them know Jesus personally and walk with the Lord and serve the Lord!
Your post, Patti, reminds me that when we get out on the street to minister to people we encounter real life: family dysfunction, addictions, those who are disabled and infirm. It keeps us real. And it gives us an opportunity to bring real healing and real transformation. Thank you so much for consistently getting out into the streets. The meat is definitely in the street!
Amen! So great Patti. May Lord come and bring breakthrough in their lives! How weak we are, but Lord enjoys strengthening our hearts. You are so encouraging Patti!
